Wish List: Neon Florals

fashion blog florals

Jacket - Pret a Portobello / Skirt - Christopher Kane / Trainers - Adidas
Shorts - Pret a Portobello / Sandals - Steve Madden / Bikini top - South Beach / Clutch - Ted Baker

"Florals for Spring. Groundbreaking." But neon florals? That causes a minor tremor, surely. I've never been one for the pale and pretty style - the sort that suits a cute dress set for an afternoon tea. I guess I've just never been that dainty. But big, bright colours are right up my street, albeit in moderation, so statement florals in these shades get me geared up for warmer weather.

Brunch at The Soda Works by Square Root

pancake brunch

A couple of weeks ago, the wonderful Jasmin Charlotte invited me to a meet-up she was holding in Covent Garden. I got to meet lots of lovely bloggers including Etta from The Brunch Diaries and Lucy from Lucy Loves to Eat, and we instantly clicked over our mutual love of food. When I spotted an obscure Hackney pop-up I automatically knew that these two would definitely come with me, and so through the power of Twitter, we arranged to meet one Saturday morning for brunch and a catch-up.

Finding the Perfect Perfume

three perfumes

Smell is incredibly provocative and perfumes for me conjure up powerful memories. Anytime I get a whiff of Thierry Mugler's Angel, I remember an old school friend; Youth Dew by Estee Lauder is the familiar smell of my mum in a bottle. My first ever perfume, like most people of my age, was Pretty Peach from Avon, and then I moved on to Versace Baby Rose Jeans - the little tin it came in still remains on my dressing table, currently holding cotton buds. Over the last eight years, I have found three perfumes that I absolutely love, one that's now been discontinued, one has been around for a while, and another has recently been relaunched and is a brand new discovery for me.

Three Easy Ways to Be More Charitable

coin purse

With TV marathons, adverts on the tube and people accosting me on the street, there's a constant pressure to give to charity. I'm totally amazed by the people who dedicate their lives to such causes; my own wonderful mum has worked for Age UK for over ten years and I have friends who work for Save the Children and Amnesty International. With such dedicated people, it doesn't matter how much we may give, it never really feels like enough and it's really easy to feel guilty.

Dinner at Whyte & Brown, Soho

chicken empanadas

Have you been to Kingly Court recently? Where did all the new restaurants come from?! It's three levels of far-too-exciting, I didn't really know where to start. We headed into Whyte & Brown which is spread across the ground and first floors, decked out in sturdy metal framed tables and relaxed wooden chairs, the basic set-up reflecting the basic theme to their menu: chicken.

Degusta Box: February

degusta box february

Who could possibly say that having a box of food delivered right to your door isn't appealing? I spend an unholy amount of time wandering the aisles of Waitrose and willing myself not to buy something new that I just do not need. A recent trip home to Milton Keynes included a visit to the massive ASDA there where I gleefully skimmed the shelves for ingredients I may not be able to get on a regular daily shop (helloooooooo to a massive bag of chana dal). This month's Degusta Box* was true to form in its variety and surprise value; I had a whale of a time looking through as always!

Wish List: Indigo and Gold

Indigo and Gold

Singlet - Weekday / Quilted jacket - M&S / Trench coat- Topshop / Leather clutch - & Other Stories
Fringed bag - H&M / Gold bomber jacket - Weekday / Watch - Marc Jacobs / Denim dress - Mango

It all started with my J Brand jeans. They're a deep indigo colour and the other day I wore a lightweight cream shirt with a small gold necklace with it and fell in love with the threeway combination I'd accidentally put together.

Morty & Bob's Grilled Cheese Pop-Up

morty bobs grilled cheese neon sign

When an email pops into your inbox on a miserable mid-week afternoon inviting you to a grilled cheese tasting, it's hard not to jump up from desk and do a little happy dance. If you're a regular visitor to these pages, you'll be pretty aware that I am a cheese fiend - whether it's in a fondue or next to a big glass of red wine in Paris, cheese is the answer.

A Newbie's Guide to London Fashion Week

house of holland lfw 2015 show

This year, I attended my first London Fashion Week shows. I was so excited and privileged to be able to view the collections of Jasper ConranJulien Macdonald and House of Holland and get a sneak peek into the lives of the glamorous and ridiculously well-dressed. After years of being invited, it's no big deal for many bloggers attending, but it was for me and I wasn't hiding it. Here's eight way I made it blatantly obvious that I was a total newbie to London Fashion Week
