This year, I attended my first London Fashion Week shows. I was so excited and privileged to be able to view the collections of Jasper Conran, Julien Macdonald and House of Holland and get a sneak peek into the lives of the glamorous and ridiculously well-dressed. After years of being invited, it’s no big deal for many bloggers attending, but it was for me and I wasn’t hiding it. Here’s eight way I made it blatantly obvious that I was a total newbie to London Fashion Week
:
1) They take a photo of the London Fashion Week sign
2) They have no idea where they’re supposed to sit
3) They blatantly point and take photos of celebrities sat opposite them
4) They make a beeline for the free bar without a second thought
5) They get terrified if someone asks to take their photo
6) They aren’t sensible enough to pack flat shoes in their bag (or take a bag far too small to carry said shoes)
7) They are all about the selfie
8) They don’t bring a portable phone charger so their phone dies after one show

In my defense, it is a super exciting place to be for someone who watches the shows religiously online and reads about all of the collections on blogs and magazines. I had a great time, although I was shattered by the end of the day so I have a new found respect for people who say how tiring the five day stint is. Who knows if I’ll go again, so I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity and here’s hoping I’ll be making an appearance in September!
