Degustabox: September

 degustabox review

This month I had to have stern words with my other half to keep his mitts off bits in my Degustabox*. The things for your sweet tooth are always top notch and so great for keeping aside for a day when you just need sugar. Or booze. That helped too.
Here’s what was in September’s box:

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: Cult food klaxon! There was an instant shout of, ‘Can I have them?’ from my boyfriend when I took these out of the box. Luckily for him, I don’t like peanut butter so after a cautious nibble he got both packets.

Maynards Wine Gums Red n’ Blacks: The power of social media! Fans of these petitioned on Facebook to get them back and Maynards obliged. I am so on board with these as they are just blackcurrant and strawberry flavoured. No risk of hitting a rogue lemon one. Bleurgh. Pretty much the same deal with Jelly Babies Berry Mix – be gone citrus nasties!

Mallow and Marsh Raspberry Marshmallows: I love raspberry flavoured things and I LOVE marshmallows so this was a dream. They were a little sickly and there was a bit too much icing sugar on them, but they were a great size for snacking on.

The Good Cider of San Sebastian: This is actually from San Sebastian. As in, their comms are all in Spanish and I have no idea what’s going on. Look, I hate to sound fussy because honestly I’m not, but I just don’t like cider. These smelled gorgeous and I was all, oh look, I’m a cider drinker now! But I’m not. Sorry.

Up & Go Breakfast Drinks: I prefer my first meal of the day to be chewable, but you know what, if you’re in a hurry and you need something to trick your stomach into thinking it’s been filled, these drinks are actually bang on the money. I really like the taste of them and they’re not lumpy or grainy like a cereal. Good for keeping in the fridge for a ‘just in case’ moment.

Sweet Sally Iced Tea: Oh stop yourself, Sweet Sally, you are far too delicious. Wintery spiced flavours are normally delivered to my stomach via hot drinks like mulled wine and PSLs, but I’m totally down the cold version. It’s like Christmas on a beach.

The Olive Shop’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil: We get through a lot of olive oil in my house. My boyfriend thinks he’s James Martin so let him near the kitchen and he’ll put olive oil, butter and salt in everything. So this went down well as it saved us a couple of ££s. It was nice drizzled over salads too.

Compete Energy Bites: Coffee flavour? No. Protein supplement? No. Shit ton of caffeine? No. This just isn’t for me I’m afraid but I’m sure they do the trick for people who want all of the above!

Kent’s Kitchen Posh Noodles: These have appeared in a box before but they are good for the awful weather that’s going down right now. You can see my review of them here.
